Trainers

DR. BRADY MENGARELLI

Owner of Freedom Performance,

On-site Physical Therapist, Lead Trainer

Dr. Brady Mengarelli, a native of Prescott, Arizona, developed a profound passion for sports during his youth. He excelled in both football & baseball throughout his tenure at Prescott High School. This success propelled him to pursue football at South Dakota State University as a running back. He contributed significantly to his team's performance while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science.


During this time, Dr. Mengarelli realized his dream of becoming a Physical Therapist and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy program at NAU. His experience as a D1 collegiate athlete imparts a unique perspective, enabling him to provide highly effective treatments & assistance to high level athletes, while also tending to the needs of any youth or adult seeking relief from pain and striving to elevate their life. His ambition lies in offering his clients the opportunities he never had growing up & filling the need that still exsists in the Tri-City area.


Currently residing in Prescott with his wife Kelly, Dr. Mengarelli cherishes moments spent exploring the diverse landscapes of Arizona & quality time with his wife & newborn daughter.

ELLA STARR

Certified Personal Trainer & Coach

Ella was born and raised in Prescott, Arizona, where she developed a passion for an active lifestyle through hiking, mountain biking, weightlifting, and exploring the outdoors.

She earned her degree in Exercise Science from Northern Arizona University and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

With a strong clinical and performance-based foundation, Ella specializes in helping individuals of all ages build safe, effective, and sustainable exercise routines tailored to their unique needs and goals. She is especially passionate about working with youth, helping them develop confidence, proper movement patterns, and a lifelong love for fitness.

Ella is highly organized, motivated, and brings a team-focused approach to her work. Her goal is to empower every client she works with to move better, feel stronger, and maintain long-term health through structured, enjoyable training.

Christopher Garcia

Certified Personal Trainer & Coach

 Chris’s passion for fitness and athletic performance started at a young age, training with his dad in their garage gym. From that point on, he developed a love for getting stronger, faster, and continually improving.

Growing up playing baseball and football, Chris learned the discipline and work ethic it takes to compete at a high level. He’s continued to challenge himself through running and endurance training and earned his personal training certification to help others do the same.

Today, Chris is passionate about coaching athletes of all ages. Through strength training, speed and agility work, and purposeful programming, he helps individuals move better, build confidence, and reach their full potential. His goal is simple: to help people realize they’re capable of more than they think.

Christiana Taylor

First Impressions Team Lead

Christiana has been a key part of the team since December. As the first point of contact for many clients, she plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, organized, and high-level experience from the moment someone walks through the door.

Originally from Texas, Christiana attended junior college in Tomball, TX before continuing her education at Grand Canyon University, where she studied Pre-Med. She was a competitive swimmer for most of her life and now enjoys playing volleyball recreationally. Growing up in a family that prioritized health and fitness, she developed a strong appreciation for movement, discipline, and staying active from a young age.

Christiana has six years of experience as a swim instructor, where she developed a passion for helping kids build confidence in themselves—something she continues to carry into her role today. She is known for her personable nature, strong communication skills, and ability to make scheduling simple and seamless for clients. Her goal is to ensure every person who interacts with Freedom Performance feels comfortable, taken care of, and confident in their experience.

Outside of the gym, Christiana enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time out on the water. A fun fact about her—she was homeschooled until 9th grade and is one of six siblings.

CLAIRE WILLIAMS

First Impressions Team

With over 4 years of customer service experience and a background in beauty school, Claire brings a unique blend of skills and passion to her role. She is dedicated to building strong relationships with clients and is always eager to learn more about health and wellness.


Outside of work, Claire loves spending quality time with her friends and family, enjoying the great outdoors, and exploring new places through travel. A sports enthusiast, she enjoys baseball and volleyball, and she also has a strong passion for dancing, with extensive experience in ballet. Claire looks forward to contributing to the positive and welcoming atmosphere at Freedom Performance.

SHERIDAN LATHROP

First Impressions Team

Sheridan, a Prescott native, was raised amidst a whirlwind of sports, from volleyball to soccer, and immersed herself in over 15 years of dance at Summer Danceworks. With a solid background in customer service spanning over 5 years, she thrives on building meaningful connections with everyone she encounters.


After graduating from PHS in 2020, Sheridan pursued her passion for Communication and Information Science at the University of Arizona. Recently, she and her husband made the decision to return to Prescott, drawn back by its unparalleled sense of community.


Driven by her dedication to women's health and fitness, Sheridan is on the path to obtaining her personal trainer license. Her goal is to make a positive impact in women's health at Freedom Performance. As the middle child among eight siblings, she finds fulfillment in spending quality time with her family and husband, cherishing the bonds that tie them together.

Baseball Coaches

Brandon Maurer

Baseball Coach

Brandon Maurer is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who brings elite-level experience and insight to every athlete he coaches. After being drafted by the Seattle Mariners, Maurer made his MLB debut in 2013 and went on to pitch for multiple organizations, including the San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals. Known for his power arm and competitive mindset, he transitioned from starting pitcher to a high-leverage bullpen role, even serving as a closer at the major league level.

Throughout his professional career, Brandon developed a deep understanding of pitching mechanics, arm care, velocity development, and the mental side of the game—knowledge he now passes on to the next generation of athletes. His coaching emphasizes not just throwing harder, but throwing smarter—focusing on efficient movement, durability, and game-ready performance.

As a coach, Brandon is passionate about helping players maximize their potential, whether they’re just starting out or competing at a high level. His experience in professional baseball allows him to provide athletes with real-world insight into what it takes to succeed on and off the field.

Tyler Green

Baseball Coach

Tyler Green is a retired professional baseball player with a career highlighted by high-level performance and major league success. After progressing through the minor leagues, he earned the opportunity to compete at the highest level as a member of the 1993 National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies.

His most notable season came in 1995, when Tyler emerged as a strong Rookie of the Year contender alongside Hideo Nomo. That year, he demonstrated elite ability on the mound, including back-to-back complete-game shutouts against the Dodgers and a win over the Atlanta Braves. His performance earned him a selection to the MLB All-Star Game, representing both the Phillies and the National League.

Today, Tyler brings his professional experience and knowledge of the game to coaching, helping athletes develop their skills, compete at a higher level, and reach their full potential.

Kevin Odom

Baseball Coach

Kevin earned college baseball scholarships to Central Arizona College and Cal Baptist University. He played two seasons under head coach Jon Wente, helping lead the Vaqueros to two regional playoff appearances.

He posted a .323 average in Arizona’s wood bat league, recording four home runs, nine doubles, four triples, 46 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. Kevin also earned All-State honors, was named Team MVP, and served as a team captain for three years.

He later hit .540 with 11 home runs, 34 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases. In addition to his athletic career, Kevin served over 10 years in law enforcement.
